who are either working or actively looking for work. It is calculated by subtracting
the labor force participation rate of Black Americans from that of white Americans
in the MSA.

- Minneapolis, Raleigh-Durham and Baltimore are consistently doing well with low Black and white labor participation rate gap.
- Tampa Bay has a significant gap in Black-white labor participation rates and the trend has been increasing since 2013. Currently, Tampa ranks bottom (20th) due to a high disparity in participation rates.
