Musical Theatre
In the USF Musical Theatre program, we’re not training future chorus members to conform to what already exists, we’re training the future innovators in Musical Theatre.
The new BA in Musical Theatre is designed with maximum flexibility to provide students with a solid foundation in acting, singing, and dancing skills grounded in a well-rounded bachelor’s degree with transferable professional skills like critical thinking, communication, collaboration, leadership, and creativity.
This is truly an interdisciplinary degree, with classes from the nationally and internationally acclaimed faculty in Theatre, Dance, and Music. In addition, we frequently have guest directors, choreographers, and designers with extensive Broadway and West End credits, who are invested in helping our students discover who they are as performers, not fit into an existing mold.
Whether you want to pursue traditional theatre, theme park or cruise ship entertaining, teaching, writing, dramaturging, or designing for Musical Theatre, our degree allows flexibility for you to learn from the best and develop your skills through labs and productions.
USF performs two musicals a year, in addition to a plethora of vocal ensemble opportunities through the School of Music as well as Dance opportunities. Additionally, student groups are highly active and produce their own plays, dance concerts, vocal performances, and cabarets.
