Applications for Spring 2026 will open early next year!

TIP begins with an intensive course on Florida history, issues, and politics before students relocate to Tallahassee for the 60-day legislative session. Each student is placed in the office of an elected official, professional association, or private firm that develops and researches issues addressing Florida state policy.

Up to fifteen (15) undergraduate juniors and seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.60 will be selected to participate. All majors and disciplines are welcome to apply from all three campuses.

Students are responsible for paying their USF tuition and fees, as well as all expenses they incur during the program (i.e., transit while in Tallahassee). A $1,500 scholarship awarded by the College of Arts & Sciences will help defray expenses during the program. Housing for TIP, and transportation to and from the state capital, will be provided by the College of Arts & Sciences. Placements are coordinated by the USF Office of Government Relations.

Students: For questions about the application process, please contact Catherine Koziol, the USF College of Arts & Sciences Internship Coordinator, for more information.

For all other program and academic inquiries, please reach out to Dr. Robin Ersing, the USF School of Public Affairs Director.
