Award Descriptions - Celebration of Leadership Awards
The Celebration of Leadership Awards bestows awards to individuals, student organizations, faculty/staff advisors and Tampa Bay area community partners. Below you will find descriptions for the award bestowed by the Center for Leadership & Civic Engagement at the event.
Many Student Success and campus partners bestow awards at the event, as well. Information about those awards will be shared by those individual offices.
Leadership Legacy: Recognizes a student leader whose long-term dedication and commitment have had a positive influence on sustaining the impact and visibility of a student organization.
Outstanding Student Organization Leader: Recognizes a leader within an organization that has provided exemplary commitment and extraordinary leadership. This student has made a meaningful contribution to the organization’s mission, vision and values, and demonstrated transformational leadership.
Outstanding Student Organization Advisor: Recognizes a student organization advisor who has provided outstanding support to a student organization. The advisor should have made a significant impact on the organization by providing leadership in organization growth and development of students, continuity of the organization and programming content and expertise.
Bridge Builder: Recognizes the student organization that best cultivates leaders in their organization through leadership development opportunities and successfully transitioning organization leaders from year to year.
Pillar of the Community: Recognizes a graduating senior or graduate student who has exhibited outstanding leadership during their tenure at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ. Pillar recipients are leaders on campus, in the classroom, and in the community during their time at USF.
Learn*Serve*Lead.: This award recognizes a student(s) that has demonstrated significant contributions to the Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement’s mission of educating and challenging USF students to be effective, ethical leaders who serve as engaged citizens for the global community.
Volunteer Standout Performance of the Year: This award recognizes the most outstanding USF individual who has dedicated his or her time to USF and the surrounding communities through community service, philanthropy, and/or social justice awareness.
Marshall Student Center Hall of Fame Award: Named for the Marshall Student Center which represents the spirit, tradition, pride, and excellence of USF, this award recognizes the recipient’s significant contributions to student life through outstanding student leadership, campus engagement, and community involvement.
Outstanding Student Organization: Recognizes a student organization that has demonstrated a positive impact on the USF community and a commitment to developing a sustainable organization that cultivates leadership among its organization members.
Outstanding New Student Organization: Recognizes a new student organization established during the current academic year that exhibits initiative in campus programs, member and organization development, and a strong potential to contribute to the quality of life as a sustainable student organization at USF.
Student Organization Program of the Year: Recognizes a student organization program that positively contributes to the enhancement of the University community by utilizing innovative and creative approaches to reach a diverse student audience.
Outstanding Graduate Student Organization: Recognizes a graduate student organization that demonstrated consistent flexibility, initiative, creativity, and perseverance. This organization has made a meaningful contribution to students, the University, and/or surrounding community.
Outstanding Student Organization Collaboration: Recognizes an organization exemplifies the values of teamwork, collaboration and creating positive change for the USF community. This award recognizes the student organization that most embodied the elements of teamwork, collaboration, and quality programming that benefit the USF community; and worked most effectively with other student organizations, University departments, and/or the greater Tampa Bay community.
Volunteer Community Program of the Year: This award recognizes the best volunteer program planned by a USF student and/or student organization. This program can be related to community service, philanthropy, and/or social justice awareness.
Volunteer Organization of the Year: This award recognizes a student organization with the most comprehensive and effective volunteer service program.
Community Partner of the Year: This award recognizes a community partner with the most comprehensive, effective, and engaging volunteer service program.
Community Partner Ultimate Bull Award: This award recognizes a community partner who has collaborated with the USF campus community in a mutually beneficial relationship to create positive sustainable change for Tampa Bay.
The Good Neighbor Community Partner Award: This award recognizes a community partner within a three-mile radius of the USF-Tampa campus who has created opportunities for students to engage in meaningful and impactful work that emphasizes the reciprocal nature of our relationship with the community.
Global Program of the Year: This award recognizes a student organization’s globally-focused program, held on campus or in the Tampa Bay community, that assisted in increasing international and/or global awareness.
Global Initiative of the Year: Recognizes a student organization that has demonstrated excellence through an international service initiative to help create positive change.
