About Research Park
Located on the Tampa campus of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ, the USF Research Park covers more than 112 acres at the heart of the USF community. The Research Park brings together world-class researchers, inventors and entrepreneurs eager to collaborate with a highly-trained, high-tech workforce.
The Research Foundation, in association with USF leadership, is continuously developing its USF Research Park as a hub for biotechnology, life sciences research and entrepreneurship. The Research Foundation supports the physical structure and provide a community for collaboration, innovation, development, transfer and commercialization of technology. The Research Park and its growing community enable student internships, faculty collaborations, licensing and joint creation of intellectual property, and the forging and facilitation of corporate partnerships.
The USF Research Park is the centerpiece of USF's innovation enterprise, which sustains more than 4,000 public and private sector jobs and returns more than $71 million in tax revenue to local, state and federal coffers.
For more than a decade, the USF Research Park's goal has been to serve as a catalyst for the Tampa Bay Region's leading science and technology innovation district. With an unparalleled collection of neighboring anchors who are world leaders in health sciences—the Moffitt Cancer Center, James A. Haley VA Hospital and AdventHealth Tampa are located within a two-mile radius—that district has become nationally known for its concentration of highly-skilled scientists and leading innovators who collaborate in an environment that promotes discovery, creativity and exploration of new ideas. Located just minutes from three interstate highways (I-75, I-275 and I-4) and 25 minutes from Tampa International Airport, widely known as one of the best airports in the world, the USF Research Park is positioned perfectly to welcome visitors and partners from near and far.
USF veiled its new state-of-the-art research center within the USF Research Park on March 31, 2022, with the purpose to deepen the connection between USF innovation and the business community, and advancing the Tampa Bay region’s growing startup ecosystem. The three-story, 120,000-square-foot mixed-use building features advanced laboratory facilities, offices, and amenity space for new and established companies.
