Partnership Initiatives
Leadership Collaborative
The Leadership Collaborative is an initiative sponsored by the David C. Anchin Center
and Region IV Professional Development Directors. Region IV includes districts on
the west coast of Florida from Citrus to Sarasota, Polk County and the Heartland Consortium.
In bimonthly meetings, collaborative participants focus on issues related to professional
development. They also discuss items of concern at the state level. USF Educational
Leadership and Policy Studies program faculty and SCATTER staff participate in collaborative
activities and discussions.
Professional Learning Alliance (PLA)
The Professional Learning Alliance is an outgrowth of the partnership between USF’s Educational Leadership and Policy Studies program and local school district leaders. For the past five years, district leaders, school administrators, program alumni, graduate students and faculty meet quarterly for ongoing collaboration and networking. Topics for discussion are determined by the members based on current issues. The nature of the PLA work can be described in the following manner:
- Purpose: To increase opportunities to collaborate for the purpose of bridging preparation and practice
- Vision: To provide wraparound support for leadership development as an influential network
- Mission: Through meaningful collaboration and honest dialogue, we focus on enhancing the success of students and educational leaders
The PLA has become an important forum for educators from many different perspectives to engage in meaningful dialogue.
