ACHIEVE - Hearing, Cognition, and Hearing Evaluation in Elders- Feasibility
Eligibility: Adults ages 70-84 with sensorineural hearing loss.
Goal: To determine the feasibility of delivering a best practices hearing rehabilitative
intervention protocol with older adults with hearing loss.

Application of Health Behavior Models to Predict Hearing Healthcare Outcomes
Eligibility: Adults greater than 50 years old who fail a hearing screening in the community.
Goal: To better understand the relationship between an adult's hearing health care behaviors
and his/her attitudes and beliefs about hearing healthcare and readiness for behavior
change.

Binaural Hearing Systems [Industry]
Eligibility: Adults 18 years and older with or without hearing loss; Adults who are experienced
behind-the-ear hearing aid users
Goal: Understand existing technology and gather information to improve technologies that
aid binaural hearing in difficult listening environments.

Characterizing Central Auditory Dysfunction [NIH R01]
Eligibility: Adults 18 years or older with normal hearing
Goal: Develop novel and efficient tests for clinical diagnosis of auditory dysfunction

Eligibility: Adults 18 years and older with moderate to severe hyperacusis (intolerance of loud
sounds)

Improving Hearing Aid Fittings [Industry S44]
Eligibility: Adults 18 years and older without hearing loss
Goal: Evaluate and improve hearing aid fitting procedures based on real-time speech perception
performance.

Goal: To see if music training improves the everyday abilities of older adults.

Neural Bases of Age-Related Hearing Loss [NIH P01]
Eligibility: Adults 18 years and older with or without hearing loss
Goal: Understand how hearing, speech perception, and listening in noise change with age.
We are also investigating how the brain changes with different auditory inputs and
the possibility of a hormonal correlation with hearing loss.

Voice Quality Perception [NIH R01]
Eligibility: Adults 18 years and older with normal hearing
