Undergraduate Scholarships

Tampa Bay Rays Endowment

To support scholarships for first-generation students in the College of Arts and Sciences. If funding is available the student may be renewed up to 8 semesters and will be evaluated on an annual basis.

Donna Longhouse Liberal Arts Scholarship

To support scholarships for full-time undergraduate students pursuing an English major. (*Only in the event absolutely no English major qualifies for the scholarship, then among the following in order of preference: Humanities, Economics, History, Geography, Anthropology) in the College of Arts and Sciences, on the Tampa or St. Petersburg campuses. The scholarship is restricted to First Generation students and is based on financial aid (FAFSA). This scholarship is renewable up to 8 semesters for English majors, all other majors 2 semesters only.

Norman Jacobs Memorial Scholarship in Liberal Arts

Created in Norman Jacobs memory by his son and wife.

  • Must have at least 20 semester hours earned.
  • Minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and 3.0 Â鶹ÊÓƵ grade point average.
  • Preference is given to undergraduate Criminology and Political Science majors.

John Barton Camp Endowed Scholarship Fund 

Established by Dr. Helene Tanous in memory of her husband who taught at the University Â鶹ÊÓƵ for many years.

  • Must be a declared student majoring in Humanities, Liberal Studies, Linguistics or Psychology.
  • Minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and 3.0 Â鶹ÊÓƵ grade point average.
  • Full-time enrollment not required.
  • Preference is given to an undergraduate with music minor or interest in music (especially piano).

Eric Turner Siemers Memorial Scholarship

Mr. and Mrs. Eric Siemers established this scholarship in memory of their son who was killed in an automobile accident in 1979.

  • Must be a declared College of Arts and Sciences major in one of the following areas: American Studies, Communication, English, Humanities, Languages, Mass Communication, Philosophy, or Religious Studies.
  • Minimum of 60 semester hours, 20 of those semester hours must be earned at the University Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
  • Minimum 3.5 overall grade point average and 3.5 Â鶹ÊÓƵ grade point average.
  • Preference will be given to those with financial need.

Social & Behavioral Sciences Faculty Fund

Established by the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences for students monies to be provided by faculty and staff.

  • Minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and 3.0 Â鶹ÊÓƵ grade point average.
  • Minimum of 20 semester hours earned at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
  • Must be majoring in Social Science major.
  • Merit-based

Evalyn Underwood Rogers Endowed Scholarship

Established by Elaine Northrup, executrix of the estate of Evalyn Rogers

  • Minimum 20 semester hours earned at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
  • Minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and 3.0 Â鶹ÊÓƵ grade point average.

Alice E. Keefe Scholarship

Established in 1983 by Margaret M. Cahalan in recognition of the outstanding contributions of the funding of  Dean of the College of Nursing at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ.

  • Minimum 60 semester hours earned; a minimum of four semesters completed at the University Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
  • Minimum 3.25 overall grade point average and 3.25 Â鶹ÊÓƵ grade point average.
  • Must have completed a minimum of three courses in three of the four following areas: Natural Sciences, Fine Arts, Humanities, and social and behavioral sciences.

Taylor Endowed Honors Scholarship Fund

JoAnne and Ken Taylor expressed a desire to establish an endowment in Arts and Sciences.

  • Must have a minimum of 60 semester hours earned, and demonstrate an outstanding academic performance.
  • Minimum 3.5 overall grade point average and 3.5 Â鶹ÊÓƵ grade point average.
  • Must have demonstrated financial need.

Fred L & Helen M Tharp Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established by Fred and Helen Tharp.

  • Must be a declared student majoring in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science and Policy, Geology, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • Must have a minimum of 60 semester hours earned, 20 of those hours must have been earned at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
  • Minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and 3.0 Â鶹ÊÓƵ grade point average.
  • The student must be anticipating a career (teaching or research) in mathematics or science at the college or university level.

Aaron Bram Book Scholarship

Aaron was a recipient of the Krivanek Award in 1992.

  • Must be a declared Pre-Med student.
  • Minimum 3.3 overall grade point average and 3.3 Â鶹ÊÓƵ grade point average.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Preference is usually given to non-traditional students.

Charles & Mrs. Gray Memorial Scholarship

Established by Majorie Dye Gray with a donation of $50,000.

  • Must be a declared Pre-Med student in Arts and Sciences.
  • Open to juniors and seniors with 24 semester hours at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
  • Minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and 3.0 Â鶹ÊÓƵ grade point average.
  • Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need.

David Lee Memorial Scholarship

Established as a memorial.

  • Must be a declared Pre-Med student in Arts and Sciences.
  • Minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and 3.0 Â鶹ÊÓƵ grade point average.

Dean Classic Endowed Scholarship

Scholarships for the Dean Classic Endowed Scholarship are awarded by the dean or their designee.

  • Minimum 3.0 overall GPA.
  • College of Arts and Sciences Major.
