Visualization
3D Visualization is the process of viewing three-dimensional visual imagery created through computer graphics, such as point clouds and textured 3D meshes. 3D visualizations can be self-guided or annotated with expert voices. They are often realistic, immersive and interactive; allowing users to visit digital worlds and to manipulate digital objects through touch and navigation. Access 3D Lab has a small but high-performance collection of 3D visualization technologies for research and teaching:
- HTC Vive virtual reality headset
- Promethean ActivTable
- Promethean ActivePanel Touch
Users seeking to further explore 3D visualization are encouraged to reach out to our colleague Howard Kaplan, of USF’s Advanced Visualization Center (AVC).
