How to File Insurance/Risk Management Claims
Insurance coverage is provided to the University by the State of Florida’s Insurance Trust Fund under the legal authority of Chapter 284 of the Florida Statutes. This is a self-insurance program providing mandatory Property Insurance Coverage administered by the State Property Insurance Program, and Casualty Insurance Coverage administered by the State Risk Management Trust Fund.

Mandatory Property Insurance Coverage is administered by the State Property Insurance Program, and Casualty Insurance Coverage administered by the State Risk Management Trust Fund. Optional Statewide Commercial Insurance Coverage administered by the State Department of Management Services is also available to the University. The Division of Environmental Health & Safety is responsible for the coordination and administration of these policies.
Insurance Claims Forms
EH&S processes insurance claims for the University and submits the claims to the DRM for handling to conclusion. The most common types of claims handled by EH&S are Automobile, General Liability and Property claims. Contact the Insurance Coordinator (974-4036) for information regarding the insurance coverage and claim procedure. In order to fill out the forms, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader.
USF Safety Committee
The University Safety Committee (USC) is responsible for advising the Vice President of Administrative Services on matters that affect the safety of employees at the University. The Committee will evaluate, monitor and analyze safety issues to reduce the risk of injury and property damage on the Â鶹ÊÓƵ campuses.
