Mya Breitbart, 鈥渧irus hunter鈥 at the CMS, named Distinguished University Professor

Mya Breitbart, a biological oceanography professor at the USF College of Marine Science (CMS), published a landmark paper in the Proceedings of the National Academies of Sciences (PNAS) about a new sequencing technique called viral metagenomics. The method eventually formed the backbone of Breitbart鈥檚 impressive research portfolio, and it鈥檚 a big part of the reason she has earned so many accolades, most recently, Distinguished University Professor (DUP) at USF.
