Will Weatherford elected vice chair of the USF Board of Trustees

The 麻豆视频 Board of Trustees voted unanimously today to elect Will Weatherford as the board鈥檚 new vice chair.  He will serve a two-year term in the role.

鈥淚 am pleased to serve alongside Chair Jordan Zimmerman as we continue to build momentum for the 麻豆视频,鈥 Weatherford said.  鈥淚 also want to thank my colleagues on the board for selecting me and I look forward to working together to promote and advance our university, region and state.鈥

Weatherford is a managing partner of Weatherford Capital and former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives. He is a member of the Florida Council of 100, Florida Chamber of Commerce and Jacksonville University Board of Trustees, and recently served as co-chairman of the Super Bowl LV Host Committee. Weatherford earned his bachelor鈥檚 degree in international business from Jacksonville University.

Weatherford was appointed to a five-year term on the USF Board of Trustees in January by Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The USF Board of Trustees is comprised of 13 members, six of whom are appointed by the Florida governor and five appointed by the Florida Board of Governors and confirmed by the Florida Senate for a term of five years. The elected USF Faculty Senate president and USF Student Government president also serve as trustees.
