Policy Dialogues: Hunger as a Weapon

Join us for the first-ever Global and National Security Institute’s Policy Dialogues: Hunger as a Weapon. Partnering with the Â鶹ÊÓƵ (USF) College of Arts and Sciences and the Center for the Advancement of Food Security and Healthy Communities (CAFSHC), we’re going to explore how food insecurity and hunger are used by state and non-state entities as weapons of control, manipulation and suppression. Global hunger is a generator of social, economic and political instability and a threat to global and national security.

Our two discussion panels will feature experts from a variety of disciplines to address problems that have an impact around the globe:
PANEL 1  Global Hunger: Generator of Social, Economic and Political Instability
PANEL 2  Food Insecurity in the United States: A Domestic Policy Challenge

This conference will be held at the Kiran C. Patel Center for Global Solutions on the Tampa Campus of USF. It will also be live-streamed.
