USF CyberHerd Takes Second Place in U.S. Navy Cyber Resiliency Challenge
USF’s CyberHerd team won second place and a $40,000 prize in the U.S. Navy’s Cyber Resiliency Challenge, showcasing their cybersecurity expertise. The team’s innovative HERD Tool impressed judges and highlighted USF’s strength in cybersecurity education.
USF CyberHerd Wins First Place at Raymond James 2024 Capture the Flag Competition
The Â鶹ÊÓƵ's CyberHerd team secured first place in the Raymond James Capture the Flag competition held on October 5, 2024. Competing against top universities, the team excelled in challenges like web security and malware analysis, thanks to months of preparation. Led by Captain Waseem Albaba, the CyberHerd’s victory highlights their growing reputation in cybersecurity competitions.

USF Engineering Graduate Certificate Programs Extended
the last few weeks have been a challenging time for Floridians and our thoughts are with everyone impacted by the recent hurricanes. To make things easier for many who were affected by the storms, the university has extended the deadline to apply for three College of Engineering graduate programs, the Pathway to Computing Graduate Certificate, the Artificial Intelligence Graduate Certificate, and the Master of Science in Data Intelligence, to Nov. 1,
USF CyberHerd Takes 2nd & 3rd at Cybersecurity Competition
USF’s CyberHerd was formed by the College of Engineering's Department of Computer Science & Engineering. This was the team's first time at the summit and they achieved 2nd and 3rd place at the 2024 Aviation Information Sharing and Analysis Center (A-ISAC) Cybersecurity Summit.
USF students with the Institute Applied of Engineering spent a couple of weeks this summer working at NASA and their experience was covered on Bay News 9.
CSE Week of Welcome was a Hit!
CSE celebrated its annual Week of Welcome event for undergraduate students new to USF with over 250 students attending the event. CSE student organizations demostrated their projects and invited students to their meetings.
