Dr. Lyman Dukes III earned a BS and MA from the University of Florida and a PhD from the University of Connecticut. He is a professor and the masters program coordinator for the Exceptional Student Education program at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ (USF). With 30 years of experience in education, he has held various academic and administrative roles in higher education.

Dr. Dukes has published extensively on topics related to secondary and postsecondary education for students with disabilities, including several books focused on college access and success. He has secured local, state, and federal grant funding to support research, program development, and doctoral student training in exceptional student education.

His current research focuses on the shift from school to college for students with disabilities, universal design for learning in postsecondary education, research guidelines for postsecondary education and disability, and standards for higher education services for students with disabilities.
