The Department of Criminology was awarded Program of the Year for the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) National Criminal Justice Month Honors. Several faculty and students also participated in discussions at the conference and received scholarships and awards.
The Trafficking in Persons - Risk to Resilience Research lab hosted the Community Engaged and Responsible Interdisciplinary Human Trafficking Research panel, which was moderated by Shelly Wagers, PhD, and several faculty and graduate students participated in the discussion.
Master’s student Bressia Borja placed 3rd in the graduate Criminology Knowledge Scholarship Exam for Alpha Phi Sigma. Doctoral student Danielle Thomas, MA, won the Dr. Regina B. Shearn Scholarship from Alpha Phi Sigma.
Colby Valentine, PhD, was awarded the ACJS – Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship Section Outstanding Scholarship Award for her co-authored article, "Exploring the educational impact of academic field trips over time."
