In rankings released by Research.com, multiple CBCS faculty members were named top scientists at USF and in the world. According to the site, "a leading scientist is a researcher with a D-index (discipline H-index) higher than a predetermined threshold (usually 30 or 40) for their scientific disciplines."

In its lists of best universities, USF's Tampa campus was ranked No. 167 in the world and No. 68 in the nation.
