Dr. Jenkins has a master's degree in clinical psychology and a Ph.D. in clinical counseling with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy. She has been teaching undergraduate psychology and graduate counseling courses for over a decade. Her clinical experience includes working in an intensive in-home treatment program with children and adolescents, evaluating inmates housed in Tennessee's Department of Correction, authoring functional analyses and behavioral support plans, and treating individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who have a history of sexually problematic behaviors and offenses.
She is certified in perinatal mental health and trained in EMDR and her main areas of focus in private practice are couples' therapy and working with new and expectant families dealing with perinatal issues. She has been supporting clients in therapy for over a decade and has a passion for helping families during the transitional time of bringing baby home and introducing new members into the family system. She also loves helping parents to resolve behavioral issues by creating and implementing individualized support strategies.
