Florida SBDC at USF to host 2023 Business Awards Celebration Luncheon

TAMPA – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will join the to celebrate National Small Business Week and recognize businesses from the 10-county Tampa Bay region at the 2023 Florida SBDC at USF Business Awards Celebration Luncheon on May 10.

The awards luncheon will recognize Florida SBDC at USF, which is part of the 鶹Ƶ Muma College of Business, and U.S. SBA business award winners for their hard work and dedication during 2022. In addition, Florida SBDC at USF team members will be recognized for their outstanding work.

The event will kick off at 11:30 a.m. with a welcome from Florida SBDC at USF regional director, , and continue with presentations of small business awards, SBA business awards, network performance awards, and a keynote speaker. The event will be held at the University 鶹Ƶ Marshall Student Center at 4103 USF Cedar Circle on the Tampa campus. 

Spectrum Reach will honor their local Pay It Forward program recipients, and introduce this year’s keynote speaker, . Crowder is a touring musician, entrepreneur, and mental health advocate, focused on moving forward in life and business.

“We are thrilled to have Johnny Crowder join us for this annual celebration,” , associate director of the Florida SBDC at USF, said. “Being an entrepreneur can sometimes be very lonely and make you second guess yourself, and Johnny, as a small business owner himself, has real life experience with that, that he can share with our local business community.”

As the founder and CEO of the globally-utilized positive psychology startup Cope Notes, Crowder gives audiences practical self-care tools and mental health strategies that people can start using now to improve their emotional health and wellbeing. Whether he’s discussing ordinary, everyday struggles or challenges like anxiety, depression, addiction, burnout, and compassion fatigue, Crowder confronts the myths that keep people stuck.
