Mark Neuenschwander has taught Jazz Bass at USF since 1986, and is widely recognized as one of the finest and busiest bass players in Florida. Originally a French horn player, he adopted the bass for its versatility in performing all styles of music. He studied music at Memphis State University and is also on the faculty at Southeastern University and St. Petersburg College. Mark serves as an Executive Board member for AFM Local 427/721, and is the music contractor for the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, Dr. Phillips Center, Raymond F. Kravis Center and for numerous other venues and artists.  
 
Neuenschwander has played on over 50 recordings, appeared on film in Blind Pass with Armand Assante, on TV in the Michael Feinstein American Songbook series, and with Ira Sullivan on the Orange Blossom Bebop series. He has been a featured soloist on record with Johnny Varro, Richie Zellon, Jack Wilkins, Chuck Owen, Monk In the Sun, Ira Sullivan and others. He has also performed for more than 140 Broadway shows and performs regularly with the Florida Orchestra.  
 
He has worked with everyone from Herb Alpert to Yanni including Billy Eckstine, Cab Calloway, Chick Corea, Diane Schuur, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Monty Alexander, John Pizzarelli, Larry Coryell, Michael Feinstein, Rosemary Clooney, Bob Hope, Danny Thomas, Red Skelton, John Travolta, Shirley Bassey, Russell Malone, Joe Morello, John Abercrombie, Dave Liebman, Panama Francis, Richie Beirach, Manfredo Fest, Karrin Allyson, Nick Brignola, Bobby Shew, Jim Pepper, Ira Sullivan, Idrees Suliemann, Nat Adderley, Dick Hyman, and Benny Golson.
