Croatian–born pianist Andrea Feitl joined USF’s music faculty as a Collaborative Pianist
in 2021. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Music Education
from the University of Zagreb as the youngest graduating student at the age of 18.
She continued her musical training in Padova, Italy, and Cologne,
Germany, where she received her Master’s and Post-Graduate degrees in Piano Performance.
As a student in Cologne she was appointed a staff accompanist for the woodwind department,
and was also a prize winner of several national and
international piano competitions.
After her studies, Andrea continued her soloist career and became a staff accompanist for Music School of the University of Zagreb for the string and woodwind departments. She was also the official accompanist for several international competitions and also the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. Throughout her career she accompanied many masterclasses of well-known musicians and professors such as Zakhar Bron, Victor Tretiakov, David Grigorian, Goran Koncar, Robert Winn and Leonid Sorokow among others. Her teachers and mentors include Arbo Valdma, Virginio Pavarana, Zvjezdana Basic and Gita Mikic.
Andrea can be heard on The Journey, the 2022 album of premieres by LGBTQ+ composers with flutist Taylor Irelan. Ms. Feitl has collaborated with such artists as Marianne Gedigian and Jennifer Grim, and regularly collaborates with Francesca Arnone and Amy Collins. She has performed at National Flute Association Conventions and the International Double Reed Society Convention.
