TEACHING
Molecular Biology Literature - A graduate type seminar for undergraduates involving
reading and analyzing landmark research articles from the beginning of molecular biology
through current research.
Bioethics - Explores topics that biology majors do not often get an opportunity to discuss in science courses.
RESEARCH
Paul Kirchman earned his Ph.D. in molecular biology from Emory University in 1992.
After post-doctoral research positions in College Park, Maryland and New Orleans he
was a faculty member and chair of sciences at the Wilkes Honors College of FAU for
17 years.
He came to USFSM in 2016 as Dean of the newly formed College of Science & Mathematics. His research interests include aging, mitochondrial metabolism, and cross-kingdom symbiosis.
